The Perfect Carrie Underwood Song

Very rarely does a song fit a superstar but we think this one does.
Well of course everyone knows Carrie Underwood winner of American Idol from Checotah, Oklahoma but her predecessor is a singer songwriter from Stigler, Oklahoma.(about 50 miles from Checotah)
George Arlis Highfill graduated from Stigler  High School in 1965.  We’ll go into his history later but first the song he wrote for Carrie but didn’t know it.
Until You Let Me Down

Until You Let Me Down

If there’s a reason for all this.  I wish you’d tell me.
But when I asked you never make a sound
You once loved me or at least you said you did so I’ll just live again until you let me down.
In a short time you could forget me but I still think of you at times like right now.
But I’m a fool but I’m always there when you need me.
So I’ll just live again until you let me down.

Take me higher than I’ve ever been before and bring me tumbling, crumbling to the ground.
So watch the hope in my eyes as it takes up wings and flies cause  my love lives again each time you come around.

Well I know you only use me and if you drop by sad I’ll be your clown.
Then you leave just like the sun leaves for the night and my love lives again until you let me down.

Take me higher than I’ve ever been before  and bring me tumbling crumbling to the ground.
So watch the hope in my eyes as it takes up wings and flies cause my love lives again each time you come around.

Take me higher than I’ve ever been before and bring me tumblin crumblin to the ground.
So watch the hope in my eyes as ot tales i[ womgs amd  fliies cause my love lives again each time you come around.
And here I am again you’ve let me down.

Take me higher than I’ve ever been before and bring me tumblin crumblin to the gound.
So watch the hope in my eyes as it takes up wings and flies but there you go again you’ve let me down.
You’ve let me down.
